Marcel Lettre is a Vice President in Lockheed Martin Government Affairs, leading a team that supports strategies for delivering innovative capabilities in space, strategic systems, missile defense, hypersonics, directed energy, ISR systems, and other advanced technology investments.  

Prior to joining Lockheed Martin in 2017, Marcel completed eight years of service at the Pentagon under four Secretaries of Defense. He culminated his service as the Senate-confirmed Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence, the most senior intelligence advisor to the Secretary of Defense and the top defense advisor to the Director of National Intelligence, overseeing strategy for an intelligence enterprise of $17 billion and 110,000 personnel across nine agencies.  

Marcel’s prior Capitol Hill service was as Senior National Security Advisor to the Senate Majority Leader from 2005 to 2009 and on the staff of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence from 2002 to 2005. Previously, he worked as a management consultant and in several national security think tank research roles.  

Marcel is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, serves on the Board of Regents of the University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee, and the Board of Directors of the Strathmore Music Foundation. He recently completed a term on the Board of Directors of the Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA) and on the US Army Science Board.
