Astris AI Announces New Defense-Grade AI Platform to Accelerate Secure On-Premises and Edge Deployments running on HPE Infrastructure

BETHESDA, Md., Jan. 12, 2026  —  Astris AI, a Lockheed Martin company, announced the launch of a new AI platform to deliver secure, compliant, and high-performance AI for the public sector and high-assurance commercial markets running on HPE infrastructure.

The platform, AI Factory’s Defense-Grade Security, can run on HPE ProLiant Compute DL380a Gen11 or HPE Edgeline EL8000 Converged Edge System. The mission-ready platform enables government, defense, and regulated industry customers to deploy AI securely across enterprise and disconnected edge environments, improving operational decision-making, accelerating accreditation, and ensuring predictable performance with full compliance assurance.

Delivering Secure and Compliant AI

The Astris AI Factory platform unifies AI agents, and MLOps under one governed model for secure on-premises and edge operations. The Optional NVIDIA NIM™ Add-On enhances Astris AI Factory with STIG-hardened, FIPS 140-3 validated, and NIST 800-53 High-aligned capabilities that strengthen governance, traceability, and reliability for AI workloads operating in sensitive or classified environments. The Add-On also helps streamline and accelerate accreditation processes, making compliance faster, more repeatable, and more efficient across government and regulated-industry deployments.

“This platform gives our customers one operating model for AI — from enterprise to disconnected edge — with governance and security built for high-assurance missions,” said James Droskoski, CRO, Astris AI. “By running Astris AI Factory on HPE’s infrastructure and enabling the Optional NVIDIA NIM™ Add-On, we’re enabling faster, more compliant AI deployment across mission-critical networks.”

Extending AI to the Ruggedized Far Edge

The Astris AI Factory platform can be deployed on the HPE ProLiant Compute DL380a, a superior AI fine tuning and inferencing platform, or on the HPE Edgeline EL8000, an on-premises converged edge server optimized for high-speed data analytics and AI/ML capable compute.

This solution will extend AI capabilities into tactical and industrial environments where connectivity is limited or non-existent, enabling secure, local AI inference close to the data source.

Potential applications include:

  • Defense and forward-operating deployments handling classified or export-controlled data

  • Industrial and energy operations in remote, harsh, or safety-critical conditions

  • Transportation, logistics, and autonomous systems requiring real-time, on-site decision-making

By running on HPE’s resilient hardware and secure supply chain, Astris AI offers a differentiated, high-trust AI alternative designed for mission-critical and isolated operations. The approach aligns directly with HPE’s strategy — providing customers with compute where it’s needed and securing it where it matters most.

Streamlined Deployment for Classified and Mission Networks

Building on HPE’s federal-aligned infrastructure and Lockheed Martin’s mission-assurance heritage, the collaboration provides a repeatable model for deploying and managing AI solutions on classified and mission networks.

“Our public sector customers and those in regulated industries need to deploy AI securely without sacrificing performance or compliance,” said Susan Shapero, VP, Public Sector, HPE. “Pairing HPE’s trusted infrastructure with the Astris AI Factory platform gives organizations the control and confidence to operate in regulated and air-gapped environments — even in the most extreme or remote conditions.”

The Astris AI solution is available today directly from Astris AI and through HPE authorized resellers. U.S. federal buyers can procure via NASA SEWP and GSA MAS procurement programs.
